    Good movie.
This movie was very good. I will watch it over and over.

    A good movie
Most of it was true, I do wish the people that wrote the trivia would do research before they make a fool of themselves. The end of the trail won first place at the 1906 Pan American exposition in San Francisco California. The model was bought and taken to Visalia California where it stood at the gate of Mooney’s Grove Park till 1974 when the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma made a deal with the Park to cast it in bronze if they could have the plaster model. The Bronze statue now stands where the model used to stand and the model is in the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City, not in Wisconsin as the trivia says.

    Historically correct? Who cares?
I purchased this DVD because I had seen the movie when it first appeared on the movie screen some years ago. It’s historical correctness may leave something to be desired but it captures the essence of the life of a real Westerner in different times; times when political correctness was not in vogue. Stories of the exploits of Buffalo Bill Cody will always be out of proportion but he was a real man with a passion for both other people. Who knows, his Wild West Show may have been his attempt to introduce the culture of our native people to the ignorant politicians who favoured only annihilation as a means of control. Times have changed but it’s too bad a Buffalo Bill wouldn’t ride again. We seem to have forgotten some of the values and human pit-falls this movie tries to portray. For the date of its release,I think it is good and I’m glad a copy is now in my library.

    Buffalo Bill!
I saw this as a child and loved it, but it doesn’t hold up quite as well. Some movies hold up and some movies don’t. This one told a sanitized, sentimental version of Cody’s life.

    Linda Darnell fans – Beware!
If you buy this film expecting to see the pretty Linda Darnell in a worthy role, watch out! Though she’s billed third, she’s in, perhaps, 15 minutes tops as a sulking, jealous rival for Buffalo Bill’s love interest (played by Maureen O’Hara). All I can say is that Linda must have been on someone’s “you know what” list to have been demoted from headliner to such a small (and unnecessary) role. I love Maureen O’Hara and bought this DVD mainly due to reading about the film in her autobiography, “‘Tis Herself”. Joel McCrea is believable as Buffalo Bill and must have been on “loan” for the part (I can’t imagine any of Fox’s players at the time in this role). Not the best story line, still enjoyable. I would recommend this only if you are a fan of McCrea or O’Hara.

    Good over all old movie
A little truth and a lot made up..but enjoyed it

    very good movie
I enjoyed watching Buffalo Bill very much. I consider it one of the more classic westerns. It has a really good cast and you can’t go wrong with Joel McCrea. The movie was filmed in and around Kanab, Utah so the scenery is really great. (Kanab celebrates their western film heritage with Western Legends Roundup every August.) If you enjoy the old westerns, you’ll enjoy Buffalo Bill.

Magnificent Performance By Joel Mcree..Great Supporting Cast.Buffalo Bill Was A Hero In His Life Time; But Would Be A Controversial Character With The Passage Of Time.Great Film You’ll Learn Much About American History From This Film.
